Additional Quarantine fees will only arise if your imported goods are determined by Quarantine to require further treatment, at which time they will advise you directly of any associated fumigation costs. The additional line charge is due to the labour intensive nature of product evaluation. This service charge is levied by all customs brokers for extended line classification entries.
Customs legislation defines "different product lines" according to the products essential character, not the quantity. For example, if your goods contain: 3 x men's analogue watches, 5 x metal photo frames and 2 x tennis racquets; then you have 3 "different product lines".

Customs Duty is calculated as a percentage of the goods value or Customs Value (CV) of your consignment. Depending on the products, the applicable duty rate can be anywhere from 0% to 10%, however most goods attract a 5% duty rate.
Customs GST is calculated at 10% of the Value of the Taxable Import (VoTI). The VoTI is calculated by the addition of the Customs Value (CV) PLUS the Duty PLUS the value of the International Transport and Insurance (T&I).
